Guidelines

Invited Application
Application Request Form

The following is some of the criteria used in determining whether specific
requests are approved for funding:
1)   All grants will be given to charities/organizations that can make a positive difference
       in the life of individuals.  Applicants will be primarily judged on the nature and degree
       of this effect.
2)   The Organization and services do not conflict with Christian morals and beliefs.
3)   Organizations must have proof of 501c3 status.  No grants to individuals will be
       considered.
4)   At the present time, the Foundation does not make multi-year grants.  Organizations
      receiving grants may reapply the following year but must again compete for the
      available funds.
5)   Grants will not be made for the following purposes:
A.  The Arts.
B.   Environment.
C.   Loan/loan guarantees.
D.   Unrestricted grants.
E.   Endowments.
F.   Awareness programs.
G.  "Bricks & mortar" grants for the purposes of construction.
H.  Education
I.  Research
6)   We prefer projects/programs that make a big difference to some individuals' critical
       needs over a project that will make a small difference to lots of individuals' minor
       needs.
7)   We like our grant to make a big difference to the project or program being funded
      (We don't want to throw $50,000 into a $5,000,000 program).
8)   We like projects or programs which help people directly ( we prefer to make good
      things happen rather than build places for good things to happen, so we do not fund
      construction).
9)   We like to see evidence that an organization has:
A.  Applied for what it needs;
B.   The experience and means necessary for success;
C.   Documentation supporting its cost estimates and timetable for the project;
D.   Allocated the vast majority of funding to actual programs and services versus
      administrative and fund raising costs;
E.   Avoided duplication of services provided by other agencies;
F.   Identified objective criteria whereby to judge successful implementation of
     services and provided for their measurement;
G. Implemented a quality assurance plan to insure the quality of services provided
     over a period of time.
H. Interest in sharing information regarding its organization with others interested
     in establishing a similar program in another area.
